Johnny McPherson-“Coach Mac”- is in his 5th yr. as coach of Anderson HS Boy/Girls teams. A Fort Worth native, he graduated from UT in ’78 & began his coaching career in Longview, Tx. He returned to Austin to teach/coach 1 yr. at Anderson in ’79 before moving to Pearce Middle School in ’80-coaching Football, Basketball & Track for 32 yrs. before retiring as the winningest MS Football coach in AISD history in Dec.’11.His teams posted 11 undefeated seasons along with 11 one-loss seasons.
He was Golf Coach at LBJ/LASA in 2014 & took over as AHS Golf Coach in 2015. The Trojans won Back-to-Back District Championships for Boys & Girls in 2017 & 2018-a 1st for AHS!
He is married to Carole Crawford of Austin & has 2 children-Daughter Amy, a Jr. at Texas Tech and son Grady, a sophomore at Texas A&M. His hobbies include traveling, golf, watching football, trivia, music (he was in a band-The Jr Beatles), being an Austin Tour Guide, and spending time with family & friends.
Coach Williamson has been an Assistant Coach at Anderson HS since 2018. She is from Cibolo and a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University ‘95. She started teaching at St. Theresa’s Catholic School in 2007, Texas and American history. Currently she is a 504 Coordinator and GT Advocate at Murchison Middle School. She got involved with golf when her children were young and were learning to play golf at First Tee of Greater Austin. As a "golf" parent of twelve years in both the boys and girl’s tournaments, she is a valuable asset and support for the Trojans. When her children made the Anderson Golf Team she started volunteering in many capacities. She currently supports our team with administrative matters and is the Girl's Assistant Coach.
Melissa sponsors the Murchison Golf Club that started in 2017. She coordinated and hosted the first ever, A.I.S.D. Middle School Golf Tournament in 2018, now an annual event.
She is married to Doyle Williamson of Schertz. Melissa has a daughter, Brady and son, Clay, both of whom have played golf for the Trojans. She enjoys being involved in organizations such as Girl Scouts, National Charity League, Young Men’s Service League, Daughters of the American Revolution, and her church. Hobbies: family, genealogy, philanthropy, and live music.
Coach Pittsford was born and raised in Austin, TX. He graduated in 2009 from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Mathematics and a BS in Kinesiology- Sport Management. While at UT, he worked with the University of Texas Men’s Basketball team for two years as a student assistant.
This will be Coach Pittsford’s 6th year as the Head Basketball Coach at Anderson High School. Overall, this will be his 9th year coaching and teaching math at Anderson.
Coach Pittsford and his wife Samantha have been married for eight years. They have one daughter, Kathryn or “Ryn”, who turns four in December.
